Helen Conrad

Helen Conrad, 91, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Monday, April 13, 2020 at Pine Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date, due to the current Covid-19 health concerns. Private family services will be held at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph, with Fr. James Adams officiating. Memorial donations in Helen’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or St. John/St. Bernard Parish. Helen was born April 1, 1929 in Benton Harbor to John & Barbara (Rapich) Yuran, and attended Sorter School in Benton Harbor. On April 3, 1948 she married Raymond Conrad in Benton Harbor. Helen devoted her life to caring for her husband and family, as well as many others in the community. She was a member of St. John/St. Bernard Parish where she participated with the Parish Altar Guild and funeral dinner committee. Helen enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, bowling, pinochle, tending to her flower gardens, and trips to the area casinos. Helen is survived by her children-Bob (Pat) Conrad of St. Joseph, Tom (Lorna) Conrad of Holland, Rosanne (Rick) Burden of Stevensville, Kathy (Todd) Burnett of St. Joseph; five grandchildren-Michelle (Steve) Ashley, Mark (Nicole) Conrad, Zane (Emily) Burden, Tyler (Nicole) Burnett, Kaitlyn (Justin) Allen; six great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law-John & Ed Conrad; and numerous nieces & nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Ray on November 10, 2018, five sisters & five brothers.
