David Clark McCrorey

David C. McCrorey, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the Timbers of Cass County. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 51841 Leach Rd, Dowagiac with Fr. Russell Homic officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church or the Leader Dog for the Blind of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.clarkch.com. David was born November 18, 1942, to William and Julia (Adams) McCrorey in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from St. Augustine High School in Kalamazoo in 1961. David proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. On October 28, 1967, he married the love of his life, Mary Fagg in Paw Paw. David worked for Southwestern Michigan College in maintenance and as a custodian for over 36 years before his retirement. He loved traveling up north to his cabin on Drummond Island where he enjoyed charter fishing and spending time with his family. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. When in high school he played football, and in 2014 was inducted into the Hall of Fame. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him. David is survived by his sons, Jason (Adrianne Baughman) McCrorey and Brett (Melissa) McCrorey; grandchildren, Ben, Emma and Wesley Adams McCrorey; and siblings, Phillip McCrorey, Patricia (Jim) Ettenger and Raymond (Margie) McCrorey.
