Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Larsen, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Jeff was born August 22, 1942, to Roy and Phyllis (Roe) Larsen in Chicago. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1960. From 1961 until 1964, Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was deployed to Vietnam from 1963-1964 in the 33rd Air Base Squadron, TonSonNuet Airbase, Saigon. He was attached to Special Operations Group 38 DAF 1963. Jeff worked at GTE, North - Three Rivers Division from 1964-1993, where he held numerous positions until retiring as an Outside Plant Engineer. In 1994, he met his “main squeeze” Marie Sievert who was the love of his life and absolute best friend. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and just being outside. He enjoyed motorcycles and dirt bike racing. Jeff was known for his sense of humor, extraordinary work ethic, and could always tell a good story. Most of all he loved making new friends, spending time with the ones he’s always had, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jeff is survived by his children, Michele (Dan Baker) Larsen of FL, Jason (Erin Hackett) Larsen of WA, and Emily Larsen of Detroit; grandchildren, Isla Hackett, Charlotte Larsen, Jaxton Larsen, Kelen Baker and Jaydan Baker; soulmate, Marie Sievert; siblings, Jeri (Mike) Jones and Tim Larsen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Phyllis Larsen.
