Devin Ray Mattis

Devin Ray Mattis, 33, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1 PM at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur, with Damon Soti officiating. Burial will follow at Harrison Cemetery. Devin was born to Vincent Mattis & Laura Hurd. He grew up in Decatur with his five siblings and was raised by Laura & Kelly Hurd. Devin was always curious about how things worked, the times he spent in the garage tinkering on various items with his Grandpa James meant the world to him. He also was known for waiting in anticipation at the end of the drive way for the arrival of Uncle Jimmy and his semi-truck to back in. Devin enjoyed playing video games with his siblings, riding bikes and fishing. However, most of all, he loved being a father to his three children. Devin’s sense of humor and caring personality will be missed by all who knew him. Devin is survived by his parents, Laura & Kelly Hurd; children, Katie Cheshire, and Tristan & Shaun Coulson; siblings, Alexandra Lumadue, Sky-Lee (Logan) Potter, Kelly Hurd, Jr., MaKensie Hurd, Reana Hurd & Connie; nephews, Grayson Potter and Colton & Jolin Lumadue; and biological father, Vincent Mattis. He was preceded in death by his sibling, Dakota Hurd.
