Joy's Obituary
Our beloved Joy Elaine Mauck, 71, of Berrien Springs passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in St. Joseph.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, MI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com.
Joy was born on May 2, 1948, in Goshen, IN. She graduated from LaPorte High School. On June 14, 1986 she married Jim M. Mauck. Joy had a servant’s heart and enjoyed taking care of people, always putting others first. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. More than anything, Joy loved the Lord and cherished time spent with her family. Celebrating both of those important aspects in her life is what made Christmas her favorite holiday, the day she got to go home to her Lord.
Joy is survived by her mother, May Edington; husband of 33 years, Jim; children, Kim Freitag, Derek (Gay) Boundy, Carrie Schlesinger and Jessica (John) Burke; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and five siblings. She was preceded in death by her fathers, George Edington and Jim Myers; mother, Iris Myers; son, Dustin Mauck; brother, Scott Edington and sister, Janet Lurton.
