Rosellen's Obituary
Rosellen O. Wessendorf, 74, of Dowagiac, passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M Saturday, December 28, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 305 W. State St., Cassopolis, with Rev. Paul Doellinger officiating. Burial will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date. Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 10:00 A.M until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions in Rosellen’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or St. Paul Lutheran Church. Those wishing to sign Rosellen Memory Book online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
Rosellen was born September 28, 1945, to Carl and Martha (Hutchison) Haisch. She graduated from Lake Shore High School in 1963. On November 16, 1991, she married David Wessendorf at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Rosellen was active in the Dowagiac VFW and was the Chaplin for the VFW Auxiliary. She had a strong faith in God, that was shown through her commitment to the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Rosellen was known for her beautiful paintings and was recognized as an International Artist, she was also the first female Master Heavy Diesel Mechanic in the State of Michigan. Though she was proud of her accomplishments, she was most proud of her family who she loved greatly.
Rosellen is survived by her loving husband, David Wessendorf; children, Larry (Kim) Whitney, Michael (Wendy) Whitney and Jennifer Whitney; step-children, Jonathan (Sisi) Wessendorf, Katrina Berres and Laura (Jeremy) Cionca; 8 grand-children, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl Haisch, Anita Haisch and Sue Walker; step-sister, Cindy (Rick) Marquis and numerous nieces and nephews.
