Kiyoko's Obituary

Kiyoko Kinjo Buentello, 81, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at The Timbers of Cass County. A Celebration of Life service will take place at 2 PM, on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, MI with Pastor James Abshaegan officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at Newell Chapel from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Cremation will take place following services and she will be interned alongside her husband, Rudy, in the Veteran’s section at Lakeside Cemetery. Kiyoko was born on January 2, 1938, in Zaha-Itoman, Japan, to Eihou Kinjo and Hide Kinjo. On August 30, 1968, Kiyoko married Rudy Joe Buentello in Naha Okinawa, Japan. She loved music, particularly from the 1960’s. She also loved gardening, sewing and cooking, especially preparing fried rice and eggrolls. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Kiyoko is survived by her children, Jerry (Amber) Buentello, John (Barbara) Buentello, Rudy (Heather) Buentello, Antonio Buentello and Patricia (Travis) Lippmann; grandchildren, Nicole, Jackie, Johnny, Amari, Jamar, Josey, Cassidy, Zachary, Ethan, Sully, Caylee, Dominic, Brennan, Simone, Breanna, Lilly and Erica; great-grandchildren Julian and Nathan; numerous siblings, and special friends that she always considered her sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rudy Buentello.
