Marvin H. Guess

Marvin H. Guess, 73, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at his home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 12:30 until 3:30PM, Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Glenwood Seventh Day Adventist church, 51089 Glenwood Rd, Dowagiac. Marvin was born on March 17, 1946, to Carl & Mary (James) Guess in Salem, KY. He attended Lakeshore Public School. On March 17, 1989, Marvin married Alice Galbreath in St. Joseph. Marvin enjoyed watching wrestling and doing any and all types of yard work at his home. Marvin is survived by his wife of 30 years Alice Guess; daughter Sherry (John) Hoffman of Benton Harbor; stepchildren, Donald (Melinda) Milliken of Bridgman, Donna (Keith) Charles of Elkhart, IN, Doreen (Delmon) Brown of Dowagiac, Jerry Milliken of New Troy and Susan (David) Ufer of Lisle, IL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister Barbara (Charles) Millsap of Decatur; son-in-law, Tony Woodfin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Mary Guess; children, Marvin Guess Jr. and Candy Beckman; stepdaughter Diane Woodfin and brother Jim Guess.
