Phillip's Obituary

Phillip Benedict, 57, of Dowagiac, formally of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, with Pastor Nathan Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, from 1:00PM until the time of service. Phillip was born July 1, 1962, in Watervliet, to Roscoe and Alice (Brock) Benedict. He attended Lawrence High School. On January 26, 1985, he married the love of his life, Diane Wiley in Kalamazoo. Phillip worked for the Van Buren Intermediate School District for over 20 years before his retirement. He owned and operated his own business, B&B Electronics in Lawrence for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the drums and watching old Western movies. He had a love for animals, especially his cat, Bear. Most of all he loved his family and will be greatly missed. Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Diane Benedict; children, Stacey (Tony) Miller and Andrew Benedict; grandchildren, Mckenzie Miller, Benny Benedict and Adelyn Warren and siblings, Roxanne Campbell and Bryan Benedict. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Rob and Kris Benedict.
