Joyce Ann Pond

Joyce Ann Pond, 74, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, at home with her family by her side. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 51841 Leach Rd., Dowagiac, MI with Father Russell Homic officiating. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery with a lunch immediately following at the church. Joyce was born on March 10, 1945, to Clifford and Marvel (Kidman) DeGraff in Dowagiac. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1963. On July 13, 1963, she married Richard Pond. Joyce was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She was extremely caring and selfless, always putting others first. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family. Joyce is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard; children, Debbie (Jeff) Green, Kim Hartman and Cheree (John) File; grandchildren, Erica (William) Jones, Alison (Jason) Stoughton, Ryan (Jillian) Green, Kayla (Nicholas) DeVries, Aaron Hartman, Derrek Hartman, Kyle Hartman, Jenna File, Nick File and Molly File; eighteen great-grandchidlren; siblings, Larry (Susan) DeGraff, Gloria “Glo” Collins, Judy Torbet and brother-in-law, Ken Gaideski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Marvel DeGraff; son, Robbie Pond; sister, Linda Gaideski; brother, Lonnie DeGraff and brother-in-law, John Collins.
