Patricia Ann Wooden

Patricia A. “Pat” Wooden, 76, of Lawton, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel & Cremation Services. Following Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 12 PM, with a time for visiting with the family an hour prior at Evangelical Mennonite Church, 425 S. Nursery St, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 129 Jefferson Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.newellchapel.com. Pat was born on July 18, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to William & Violet (Purk) Tucker. On August 8, 1959, Pat married the love of her life, Milton Wooden, in Kalamazoo. They were happily married for nearly 57 years before his passing in 2016. For many years, Pat worked in the Printing Department at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co., formally known as Upjohn Co. Realizing her true passion in life was caring for people, Pat shifted her career to being a caretaker at White Oaks Senior Living. Pat continued using her caring personality by volunteering for The Eagles for over 40 years. She was a proud member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church (EMC), where she was also involved in their Bible study classes. Pat loved tending to her flower garden and spending time with her family. She was an incredibly hard-working woman who would always put others first. Her kind and gentle spirit will be missed dearly by everyone. Pat is survived by her children, Rhonda Griffith and Patrick Wooden, both of Lawton; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews and siblings, Arthur, Eunice, Dennis and Nancy. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William & Violet; husband, Milton; and sister, Gladys.
