Nicholas “Mingo” Johnson, 52, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 12:00 PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dowagiac. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cass County Mental Health-Sober Nation. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
Mingo was born on October 13, 1966, the son of Gordy Bear and Geraldine Wesaw in Jackson, Michigan. He was Pokagon Band Tribal member and a fire keeper for the tribe. Mingo is survived by many friends and family and will be missed by all who knew him.
