Charles's Obituary

Charles Leo Wilson, 66, of Stevensville, passed away, Friday, May 24, 2019 at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Steve Hartten officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in Scottdale. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Chuck was born November 30, 1952 in Owosso, Michigan to Raymond & Helen (Doyle) Wilson. He graduated from Perry High School, Class of 1970 and attended Michigan State University. On July 18, 1981, he married the former Jane Damaske in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Chuck was president of Performance Services, which he founded in 1992, and from which he had recently semi-retired. He still cared for a few clients and had just started a retirement job with Tower Hill Christian Camp in Sawyer. Chuck was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and the EMF Breakfast Club. He was an avid golfer, hunter & fisherman. He cherished the time spent deer hunting with his family at the family cabin, an enjoyed the time tinkering in his shed at the farm. He loved all things MSU sports and his many friends who were like family. Chuck enjoyed making people laugh and could strike up a conversation with anyone in the room. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Chuck is survived by his wife Jane; his children-Michelle (Greg) Ellis of Stevensville, Jennifer (PJ) Burchardt of Dorr, MI, Michael (Robin) Wilson of Hastings, MI, Kelly (Rich) Monahan of Portage, MI, Kimberly (Nate) Parker of Mattawan, MI; fifteen grandchildren-Andrew (Stephanie) Wilson, Nathan (Emily) Straub, Patrick Burchardt, Riley & Landon Ellis, Logan & Liam Monahan, Makenzie, Everett, & Hayden Parker, Caroline, Nicole, Annabelle & Ethan Wilson; two great-grandchildren-Evelyn & Jace Wilson; siblings-Judith Wilson, Jerry (Mary) Wilson, Richard (Anne) Wilson, Ronald (Pam) Wilson; sister-in-law Billie Kay Wilson; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amelia Burchardt, his parents, his brother Don Wilson, and his sister Connie Price.
