Carl D. Gill

Carl D. Gill, 54, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at home. A celebration of life service will be at 11 am on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Heritage Chapel & Cremation Services, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com. Carl was born on March 30, 1965, to Jesse and Barbara (Burdick) Gill, Jr. in St. Joseph, MI. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1983. Carl then went on to receive his Associates in Law Enforcement from Lake Michigan College in 1986, and Associates in Electronics & Engineering Technology from ITT in 1993. He worked as a security guard at Cook Nuclear Power Plant for many years and more recently at Martins in St. Joseph. Carl enjoyed watching movies, listening to rock & roll music and reading Stephen King novels. He loved sports and was an avid Notre Dame fan, especially Notre Dame Football. Carl ushered at Notre Dame Football games for over twenty years where he enjoyed many amazing games and memories. He adored children and was a very loving, kind-hearted, selfless person who will be dearly missed. Carl is survived by his sister, Becky (Joe) Castro of Bremen, IN and nieces, Alicia Castro and Nicole (Scott) Ressler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Barbara Gill.
