Jacqueline Y “Jacqueline "Jackie" Y. Peck ” Peck

Jacqueline “Jackie” Y. Peck, 76, of Buchanan, lost her battle with breast cancer on Monday, April 15, 2019, at St. Joseph Health Systems, Mishawaka. Jackie was born on May 6, 1942, in Valparaiso, IN. She grew up in Muscatine, IA., and graduated High School from Oak Park Academy, Nevada, IA., in 1960. She then went to Andrews University where she earned her Bachelors and Masters in Music Education. On May 25, 1995, she married Sanford Peck at First Congregational Church of Three Oaks. Jackie was a long-time member at First Congregational Church and was the Minister of Music for nearly forty years. She was the music teacher at Bridgman Elementary School for 29 years before retiring. After retirement, Jackie was a traveling Music Therapist in the Assisted Living Industry and covered a five-state area. She is survived by her sisters, Colleen (Tim) O’Connor and Vickie (Bruce) Colburn; children, Steven (Ladonna) Collins, Elizabeth (John) Akers and Mark Collins; grandchildren, Heather & Gavin Pfeifle, Desiree & Parker Risener, Johnathan and Cheyenne Akers, William & Naomi Collins; step-sons, Neil Peck and Robert Peck; step-grandchildren, Tammy (Ron) Kassak, Chelsie Peck, and Cody Peck; beloved cat, Edison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Elmer and Gertrude Carlson; husband, Sanford Peck; sister, Lanette Peters; daughter, Mary Pfeifle and granddaughter, Christina Collins. A private memorial service will be held in Iowa at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church of Three Oaks, 108 E. Ash St., Three Oaks, MI 49128.
