Aubrey Earl West, 87, of Decatur, passed away on April 11, 2019, at his home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, with Pastor James Abshagen officiating. Burial will follow at Harrison Cemetery in Decatur. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 12:00PM until the time of service. Aubrey was born August 27, 1931, in Axtell, TX, to Earl and Ruthie (Powell) West. He traveled most of his life for work; working in Louisiana in construction and in Arizona working on a dairy farm. However, Decatur was near and dear to his heart, as he was well known and liked in the community. While Living in Decatur, he owned and operated his own business for over 30 years, A & W plumbing and heating. Most of all loved fishing and spending time with his family.
Aubrey is survived by his wife, Margaret Spicher West; children, Aubrey West, Jr., Jesse Allen West, David (Pamela) West, Anthony Dale West, Lorna Lee (Garry Cunningham) Donahue, Julie Ann (Timothy) Cone and Ellen Marie (George) Garvin; brother-in-law, Harry Maynard; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Geraldine Fortune, Louise Reeves, Margaret Maynard and Doris Spicher.
