Shelley's Obituary
Shelley Lee Sharples, 58, of Kalamazoo, passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Shelley was born August 31, 1960 in Port Huron, Michigan to Dwain & Barbara (Potrykus) Wood. On September 19, 1987 she married Sgt. Everett E. Sharples in Delton, Michigan. They lived for many years in Kalamazoo where Shelley was employed at Bronson Hospital. Shelley & Everett were members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #526 in Kalamazoo. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed cross stitching, all animals, but especially horses, visiting light houses, being out of doors and collecting rocks and shells on the beach. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shelley is survived by her children-Sarah (Nichoel Schmalfeldt) Sharples of Decatur, Clayton (Valerie) Sharples of Mattawan; five grandchildren-Shelby Oldberg, Alexis Fill, Navada Wheeler, Isaiah Oldberg & Emmet Sharples; her sister Cynthia Fehr of Port Huron; her sister Laura’s fiancée Larry Jackson of Port Huron; several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews; many “adopted children” as her home was the neighborhood hangout; and her feline companion “Bo”. Shelley was preceded in death by her husband Everett on December 27, 2012, her parents-Dwain & Barbara Wood, her sister Laura and her husband Carl Porter, and a brother-in-law Dennis Fehr.
