Alfred Charles Biehl, 83, of New Buffalo, died suddenly on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center in Michigan City, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo, MI.Alfred was born November 26, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Lawrence and Estelle (Franke) Biehl. He served his country in the U.S Navy during WWII. On July 16, 1972, in Chicago, he married Irene Patricia Scheuerman. Alfred was owner and operator of Bud's Collision in Michigan City for many years. He was a member of the VFW Post #2536 Michigan City, Elks Lodge #432 Michigan City, Order of Moose #980 Michigan City, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1332 Blue Island, Lake Michigan Yacht Club – where he served as Commodore in 1982, and a member of the U.S. Bowling Congress. Alfred loved boating, bowling and golf. He is survived by his wife, Irene Patricia Biehl; four daughters, Deborah (Patrick) Knightly, Kathleen (Richard) Zofkie, Cheryl (Eliot) Phillips, Christine (Howard) Brody, and Howard; a sister, Rosalie Biehl; and many grandchildren. Alfred is preceded in death by his parents.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sat., June 19, 10:00am, at the Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo, MI, with Father Craig Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Visitation is two hours prior to the service, from 8:00-10:00am, at the funeral home.
