Laura Jean Weiss

Laura J. Weiss (Folino), 51, formerly of New Buffalo, passed away in South Bend, IN on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.Laura was born October 13, 1958 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Joan (Petraitis) Folino. She was a graduate of New Buffalo High School in 1976. Laura was a devoted mother; she loved music, animals, was an avid reader, and had a quirky sense of humor. Laura will be missed by her family and many friends.Laura is survived by her children Kathryn Folino Meyer of Indianapolis, Gary Weiss, II of Michigan City, and Elle Lynn Weiss of Michigan City; step-mother Lynn Folino of New Buffalo; brothers Father Frank Folino, OFM of Ruston, LA, Russell Folino of Michigan City, Michael (Janice) Folino of New Buffalo, Joseph (Marcie) Perry of Duncan, OK, and Gary (Rachel) Folino of Three Oaks; many nephews and nieces; and her life long friend Jim Wiedenman of Buchanan. She is preceded in death by her parents-Frank and Joan Folino.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Sat., Jan. 16, 11:00am, at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, with Father James Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Visitation is on Friday, Jan. 15, from 3:00-8:00pm at the Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
