Bobby Clayton Looney

Bobby C. Looney, Sr., 67 of New Buffalo, MI died on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.Bobby was born June 13, 1942 in Lawrence County, AL to John and Estelle Looney. On October 28, 1961 in Michigan City, IN he married Shirley Marie Baker. Bobby was a Foreman and Plant Manager at Royal Metal in Michigan City for many years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #980 of Michigan City, and was also involved with the Boy Scouts Pack #552. But most of all he enjoyed and loved his family. Bobby is survived by his two sons, Bobby (Vicki) Looney, Jr., and Jerry (Kaye) Looney both of New Buffalo; six grandchildren, Samantha, Cody, Bobby, Phillip, Julia and Amanda; two brothers, Charles Looney of Michigan City and Jackie Looney of Moulton, AL; and four sisters, Lucille Hamilton of Hillsboro, AL, Geneva Norris of Crawfordville, FL, Jeanette Borden of Michigan City, IN and Phyllis Price of Ashville, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents-John and Estelle, his wife-Shirley (Oct. 26, 2009), brothers-Alfred, Felton and Sammy; and a sister-Elizabeth.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 12, 11:00am, with Rev. Victor Prietto officiating, at the Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, MI. Visitation is on Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
