Maryanne Dietrich

Maryanne Dietrich, 90, of New Buffalo, passed away at Life Care Center of Michigan City, IN on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.Maryanne was born November 29, 1919 in Benton Harbor, MI to Joseph and Katherine (Mahka) Haura. On August 7, 1937, she was united in marriage to William B. Dietrich in Michigan City, IN. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1981. Maryanne worked as a Departmental Supervisor at Publisher's News in New Buffalo for 20 years. She was a member of the Berrien County Home Extension Club, and along with her husband they were very active with the boy scouts. Her favorite pastimes were flower gardening and creating beautiful porcelain dolls. She also loved spending time watching the various wildlife playing in her backyard.Maryanne is survived by her one son, William J. (Vallery) Dietrich of Three Oaks, MI; two grandsons, William J. (Heidi) Dietrich, Jr. of Michigan City, IN, and Jerrad M. (Missy) Dietrich of Chesterton, IN; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters-Josephine and Anna, and two brothers-John and Louis. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2:00pm at Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Hospice of Michigan City, IN or to the donor's choice.
