Marion ‘Frank' DePriest, Jr., 70, of Union Pier, MI died unexpectedly on Sat. August 14, 2010. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.Frank was born on Nov. 6, 1939 in Dunklin County, MO to Marion and Maybelle (Russell) DePriest. He served his country during the Vietnam War while in the U.S. Army. Frank worked at Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor, IN over 30 years – retiring in 2003. On March 26, 1999 he married Susan Marie Glossinger. He loved fishing and NASCAR. Frank is survived by his wife Susan; children-Dawn Marie(Steve)Harvey of Bridgman, MI, Jeannie May DePriest of Phoenix, AZ and Jeremy Allen Heiss of Union Pier, MI; three grandchildren-Andrew, Catherine and Brittany; brothers-Fred DePriest of Burns Harbor, IN and Carl(Jerilyn)DePriest of Medford, OR; sisters-Linda Campbell of Davis, CA and Teresa(Steven)Isenblatter of Michigan City, IN; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents-Marion and Maybelle, son-Allan Heiss, and brothers-Randall, Russell and Gerald.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 11:00am, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, with Rev. Bradford Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeside, MI. Visitation is on Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
