Irene ‘Pat' Biehl, 78, loving wife of the late Alfred C. Biehl, of New Buffalo, died on Saturday, June 19, at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center in Michigan City, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.Pat was born May 23, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Carl and Marguerite (McGrath) Scheuerman. On July 16, 1972 she married Alfred Charles Biehl. Pat worked as a buyer for the Chicago Sun Times, in the sales dept. at Marshall Fields in Chicago, and as a purchasing agent with Abitibi in Chicago. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #169 of New Buffalo, and a member of the Lake Michigan Yacht Club. Pat loved to cook and shop. Pat is survived by her three daughters-Deborah(Patrick)Knightly, Kathleen(Richard)Zofkie, Cheryl(Eliot)Phillips, and a son-Howard; ten grandchildren-Brian, Bridget, Megan, Kevin, Sean, Lindsey, Colin, Casey, Shannon and Lucas; and a sister-Nancy(Edward)Mikula. She is preceded by her parents-Carl and Marguerite, her husband-Alfred, and a sister-Joan Delores ‘Dee' Wilkey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 11:00am(EDT) at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, with Father Craig Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00-11:00am at St. Mary's Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
