Florence Ruszkowski

Florence G. Ruszkowski, 88, of New Buffalo, died at Jordan's Life Care Center in Bridgman, MI on Tuesday, March 08, 2011. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.Florence was born April 27, 1922 in Billings, Montana to Joseph and Ida (Marcellus) Kepner. On June 28, 1947 at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo, she married Edward Ruszkowski. Florence was a real estate agent for over 30 years having worked with various local real estate agencies, including-Kerhoulas, Nadra K, Krieger's, DeVoes and Pappas agencies. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church; a long time member of St. Mary's Rosary & Altar Society; and a former member of the New Buffalo City Planning and Zoning Commission. Florence loved people and will be greatly missed.She is survived by her two children Timothy Ruszkowski of New Buffalo and Linda Kay Ruszkowski of Ypsilanti, MI; two grandchildren, Steven Ruszkowski and Lisa Matthews; and three great grandchildren, Alysa, Lilly and Craig. Preceding Florence in death are her parents Joseph and Ida, and her husband Edward. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 12, 11:00 AM, at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, with Father Craig Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday, March 11, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home.
