Florence Catherine Kajpust

Florence C. Kajpust, 82, formerly of New Buffalo, died on Thursday, March 24, 2011 in South Bend, IN at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.Florence was born on January 25, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Albert and Sylvia (Kowalski) Tulik. On September 30, 1950 in Chicago she married Eugene Kajpust. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2009. Florence was a office manager/bookkeeper with Arno Tapes of Michigan City prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church and also of the Rosary/Altar Society of St. Mary's. Florence enjoyed bowling and jigsaw puzzles.Florence is survived by her two sons, James (Sisley) Kajpust of Freeland, MI and Gerald Kajpust of New York, NY; a sister Jenny Kaminski of Chicago; and a brother Marion Tulik. She is preceded in death by her parents-Albert and Sylvia, her husband-Eugene, and several brothers and a sister.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29, 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Lake Church-New Buffalo, with Father Alphonse Savarimuthu officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery-New Buffalo. Visitation is on Monday, March 28 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.
