Joseph John Setnicky, 76, of New Buffalo, died at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center in Michigan City on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.Joseph was born November 7, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Ethel (Mazac) Setnicky. He was a graduate of Marquette High School in 1952. Joseph served his country in the U.S. Army. On January 18, 1969 in Michigan City, IN he married Mary Ann Weber. Joseph was a former New Buffalo City Council Member. He was an avid Chicago Bulls, White Sox and Black Hawk fan. Joseph retired in 1982 from Jet Fabricators in Michigan City where he was a Vice President. Joseph is survived by his wife Mary Ann; two sons, Michael (Patricia) Setnicky of Lansing, MI and Jerald (Tracy) Setnicky of Springfield, IL; grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Setnicky; step-grandchildren, Missy (Dustin) Bringle, Mandy and Kelli Ross; step-great grandchildren, Addalyn and Ayken Bringle; brother, John (Paula) Setnicky of Quartz Hill, CA; and a brother-in-law, Jim McLalin of Michigan City. He is preceded in death by his parents-Joseph and Ethel, and a sister-Ethel McLalin. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Church on Saturday, April 30, 11:00 AM with Father Craig Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation is on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Buffalo Public Library.
