Clara M. D'Anza, 89, of New Buffalo, died at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center of Michigan City, IN on Monday, March 21, 2011. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.Clara was born July 29, 1921 in New Buffalo, MI to Louis and Pauline (Anzalone) Divita. She graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1939. Clara was a telephone operator with Michigan & Illinois Bell from 1940-1966. Following she worked at the Bank of Three Oaks from 1966-1982. Clara married Sam Anthony D'Anza on April 19, 1952 in Melrose Park, IL. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church and also of the Rosary and Altar Society. Clara and Sam loved to travel, but most of all Clara loved spending time with her family.Clara is survived by her husband Sam; her twin daughters Annmarie D'Anza of New Buffalo, MI and Paula (Rick) Gerard of Macomb, MI; three grandchildren Tony Gerard, Gina (Brian) Newby and Robert Gerard; one great grandson Jack; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents-Louis and Pauline Divita; two brothers-Leonard and Leonardo; and a sister-Catherine Allie.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 11:00AM, at St. Mary of the Lake Church-New Buffalo, MI. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery-New Buffalo, MI. Visitation is on Sunday from 2:00-7:00PM at Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.
