Clara Gladys Ward

Clara G. Ward, 70, of Lakeside, MI died unexpectedly on Monday, June 27, 2011. Sommerfeld Chapel has been entrusted with arrangments.Clara was born on October 4, 1940 in Buchanan, MI to Melvin and Dora (Chapel) Lolmaugh. She was a 1958 graduate of Buchanan High School. On October 22, 1976, she married James Bennett Ward. Clara was currently employed at Ramberg's Bakery in Union Pier, MI, and had previously worked at the Dollar General Store in New Buffalo. She was a full-time mother, raising six children. She loved to read, cook, do various crafts, and adored animals. Clara is survived by her husband, James; children, Rebecca Lausch of Mishawaka, IN, Dodie Barker of Lakeside, MI, Roberta Sebasty of Wheatfield, IN, Elza (Korky) Barker of Fennville, MI, Glenn Barker of Stevensville, MI, and Ronald Barker of Buchanan, MI; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a brother, David (Jean) Lolmaugh of Buchanan, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dora, and two sisters, Judy Duis and Donna Rose. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 1, 1:00 PM, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI, with Rev. Anthony Fields officiating.
