George E. Hager

George E. Hager, 63, of Three Oaks, died on Sunday, March 18, at LaPorte Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.George was born Nov. 3, 1948 in McCarr, KY to Russell and Emma (Whaley) Hager. He served his country during the Vietnam War while in the U.S. Army. On Jan. 4, 1970 in Greece he married Christina Argiriades. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2010. George is survived by his son, Alexis of Three Oaks; brothers, Charley (Ann) Hager of KY and Mel Hager of Michigan City, IN; sisters, Brenda (Winnie) Hatfield of Union Pier, MI, Viola (Joe) Slone of KY and Faye Maynard of GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a daughter-Monica Koontz-Hager. A service will be held on Sat., March 24, 1:00PM, at the Annunciation & St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church with Father Paul Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
