Sylvia C. Tinnish

Sylvia C. Tinnish, 77, of New Buffalo, MI, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.Sylvia was born December 29, 1934 in Chicago to John & Constance Skelly. She attended Mundelein College & Loyola University, graduating with a bachelor degree in Art. On January 2, 1954, she married Richard S. Tinnish in Chicago. Sylvia enjoyed oil painting, tending to her flower gardens, cooking, dancing and music-including playing the piano & the cello and singing. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, MI.Sylvia is survived by two sons, Martin (Karla) Tinnish of Valparaiso, IN, and William Tinnish of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Victor & Valerie Tinnish; and friends too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons-Steven and John.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo on Thursday at 11:00am, with Father Craig Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00pm at Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of The Lake.
