Gerald's Obituary
Gerald Douglas Knudson, 68, passed away suddenly on July 4th, 2012, while playing golf in New Buffalo, MI. He was a devoted and loving husband, an adoring father and grandfather, a loyal brother and a caring friend. Jerry was born on July 8, 1943 in Perham, Minnesota, and spent his childhood in Jasper, Minnesota. After receiving his BS in Biology from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, Jerry served as a reservist in the Air Force while beginning his professional career. He was a strong leader in the business community. He was a mentor not only to the many people around the globe who were fortunate to work with him, but also to countless others. Jerry’s illustrious career was launched by IBM, Baxter Travenol, and GE Medical Systems. He has been characterized by friends as “larger than life” and a “class act” bringing his joy and enthusiasm to everyone. Jerry was very proud of his Norwegian heritage and his mid-western roots. In his final days he was filled with joy surrounded by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, extended family, and his adorable new puppy, Sadie. Moments before his death, he parred the 6th hole with a 40 foot putt, complete with an audience and cheers.
