Vlasta ‘Pat’ Starha, 92, of New Buffalo, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.Pat was born March 24, 1920 in Chicago, IL to James and Maria (Dubina) Sokolik. On October 12, 1940 in Three Oaks, MI she married John Starha. Pat was a member of the Czech American Club and the Besida Club. She had worked at the Featherbone Factory and various restaurants. Pat is survived by her children James (JoAnn) Starha of Burr Ridge, IL and Carol (Donn) Minch of Crown Point, IN; five grandchildren, David (Susan) Starha of Sawyer, MI, Daniel Starha of New Buffalo, Mark (Orleans) Minch of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (Michelle) Minch of Fishers, IN and Christine (Joel) Clark of Crown Point, IN; and two great grandchildren, Karley and August Minch. She is preceded in death by her parents-James and Maria, and her husband John.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012, 11:00am at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI, with Pastor Damien Lake officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Visitation is on Sunday from 2:00-6:00pm at the funeral home.
