Louis Lee Glossinger

Louis Glossinger, 76, of Union Pier, MI, passed away at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City on Monday, April 1, 2013. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.Louis was born on August 23, 1936 in Lakeside, MI to Ashley and Lydia (Schmidt) Glossinger. On July 4, 1956 in Angola, IN he married Patricia Ann Rogers. Louis was an avid hunter and fisherman, but most of all loved his family.Louis is survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia Ann; his children, Thomas (Gretchen Delametter) Glossinger of Chapel Hill, NC, Bruce (Pam) Glossinger of Union Pier, MI, and Susan DePriest-Glossinger also of Union Pier, MI; grandchildren, Jeremy Heiss and Josh (Sharra) Cox; and a great granddaughter, Chelsea Cox; brother, James Glossinger of Hollywood, FL; sisters, Judy (Don) Ponegelak of Stevensville, MI, Sharon Fox of Rogers, Arkansas, and Debbie (Dean Hoover) Byrne of Stevensville, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents-Ashley and Lydia Glossinger, a grandson-Allan Heiss, a brother-Ashley Glossinger, and a sister-Eleanor Smith.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 11:00 AM, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeside, MI. Visitation is on Wednesday, April 3, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
