Sharon L. Conklin

Sharon L. Conklin, 75, of Lakeside, MI died at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI. Sharon was born August 14, 1938 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Lloyd and Margaret (Perron) Woodgate. Sharon enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, but most of all loved spending time with her beloved family. Sharon was also a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Buffalo American Legion Post #169. Sharon is survived by her children-Merlin (Robin) Armstrong of Michigan City, IN, Jamie (Pam) Armstrong of Valparaiso, IN, Darl Armstrong of Lakeside, MI, Jodie (John Zaemisch) Armstrong of McFarland, WI and Shellie (Leonard Thompson) Armstrong of Three Oaks, MI; step-children-Ben (Lori) Conklin of Ft. Wayne, IN, Myron “Butch” (Sheila) Conklin, Jr. of New Buffalo, MI, and Vay Jean (Tony) Crochett of St. Joseph, MI; 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; brothers-Alvin (Joanne) Woodgate of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Harold (Carol) Woodgate of Thompsonville, MI; and a sister-Rosemarie Killips of Lakeside, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents-Lloyd and Margaret Woodgate, her step-mother-Alice Woodgate, her husband-Myron Conklin, Sr., brother-Gary Woodgate, and sisters-Jeanette Gordon and Penny Forgrave. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sat., Aug. 17, 4:00 PM(EDT), at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 PM(EDT).
