M.'s Obituary

M. ‘Eileen’ Vollink, 85, of Crown Point, IN formerly of New Buffalo, MI passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI. Eileen was born on May 19, 1928 in Chicago, IL to William and Margaret (Hurley) Calhoun. Eileen came to the New Buffalo area in 1970 and lived here until 1998 when she and her husband moved to Florida. Eileen was active while in the community. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church; and also taught dance and acrobats with Atelier Tumblers for many years. Eileen is survived by two daughters-Kathleen Boucher and Lisa (Rob) Hjertquist both of Crown Point, IN, and a son-William (Glenda) Boettcher of Ottawa, IL; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a sister-Pat (James) Williams of McHenry, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents-William and Margaret Calhoun, her husband-Kenneth Vollink, a son-Michael Boettcher, and a brother-‘Archie’ Lester Calhoun. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Dec. 21, 11:00am, at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, with Father Mike Hack officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visiting hours will be on Friday, from 5:00-8:00pm at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
