Kathryn Marie Dehne

Kathryn Marie Dehne, 90, of New Buffalo, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at West Woods of Bridgman, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.   Kathryn was born on Feb. 5, 1924 in Jefferson County, KY to Fred and Marie (Lotz) Roggenkamp. On March 6, 1944 in Louisville, KY she married Edwin Louis Dehne. She worked at Horne’s Restaurant in New Buffalo from the late 1960’s until the mid 1970’s as the manager. Kathryn was a dedicated member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer, MI. She and her husband were avid bowler’s. But Kathryn’s biggest love was for her family.   Kathryn is survived by her husband Edwin; her children- Kay Kempf of Tampa, FL, Carolyn (Rick) Ghareeb of Union Pier, MI, Anita Mode of Traverse City, MI, Patty (Chris) Allmand of White Pigeon, MI, Debbie (Bob) Skalecki of Bridgman, MI, Janice (Tom) Krycka of Three Oaks, MI, Ed (Toni) Dehne of New Buffalo, MI, and Roger Dehne of Three Oaks, MI; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and a sister-Doris (Carl) Wohlschlegel of Louisville, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents-Frederick and Marie, four brothers, one sister, one grandson and two son-in-laws.   A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer, MI on Tues., June 24, 1:00 PM, with Pastor Randy Lett officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation is on Mon., June 23, from 5:00-8:00 PM, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.
