Therese's Obituary

Therese “Lorraine” Dudiak   Lorraine’s life began on February 27th , 1927 in Chicago, IL one of the ten children of Jacob and Anna Wagner. After memorable years with perfect attendance at St. Augustine High School she worked for the U.S. government in the Quartermaster’s Office. On a trip to Michigan she was introduced to a handsome, blue eyed guy with an irresistible smile, Frederick Nicholas Dudiak. They enjoyed a long courtship, were married on October 6, 1951, moved to Union Pier, MI and began their life together. After getting the six kids to school age she became the smiling face behind the counter at Ramberg’s Bakery in Union Pier for 35 years. Lorraine was a devout member of St. Mary of the Lake Church. She was a gifted cook, seamstress and baker. By far her happiest times though, were spent with her family. She would share with anyone who asked that they were her biggest blessing in life. She, in turn, was loved beyond measure by them. Lorraine was a warm, wonderful person with a sense of humor and a great smile.   On September 18th, Lorraine passed on joining her husband, all her siblings and friends in heaven. She leaves behind to cherish her memory the family she so loved. Her children are Cliff (Rose) Dudiak and Karen Dudiak of New Buffalo, Ken (Paula) Dudiak of Sawyer, Carolyn (Rich) Margol and Katherine Dudiak of St. Joseph and Chris Dudiak of Union Pier. She was “Grandma D” to Brianna (Joe) Murphy of Michigan City, Mitchell (Lacey) Dudiak of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Margol and Michael Margol of St. Joseph, Amanda (Caleb) Dryden and Derek Dudiak of Sawyer.   Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo with Father Dan Hyman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lorraine’s name to St. Mary of the Lake School or Church. Those wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.sommerfeldchapel.com   Lorraine would not want anyone to mourn her, but instead do something fun with your own family. Take the time and enjoy every precious moment.
