Leo's Obituary
Leo Lewis, 83, of New Buffalo, MI passed away at his home on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI.
Leo was born on March 2, 1931 in Hazard, KY to Martin and Rachel Lewis. He served his country in Korea while in the U.S. Air Force. On Oct. 6, 1956 in Chicago, IL he married Derona “Dottie” Reynolds. They came to New Buffalo in 1961. Leo worked as a supply agent at Chrysler and Michigan City Plastics until his retirement in 1994.
Leo is survived by his wife Dottie; children-Rick (Diana) Lewis of Kalispell, MT, Joel (Lisa) Lewis of LaPorte, IN and Belinda (Donald Toan) Lewis of Scottsburg, IN; grandchildren-Danielle, Becky, Jason, Jenine, Steven, Isabella, Michael, Lyssa and Jazmyn; great grandson-Noah; and sisters-Emma Mae Jent of Scottsburg, IN, Lou Flanigan of Louisville, KY and Loretta Stocker of Piqua, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents-Martin and Rachel, and several brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tues., Oct. 21, 2:00 PM, at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. Visitation with the family is also on Tues., from 12 noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
