Barbara Jo Geisler

Barbara Jo (Forrester) Geisler, 71, of New Buffalo, MI passed away on December 2, 2014 in St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.   Barbara was born July 8, 1943 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Growing up she was fortunate to be raised by a large and loving family. The beginning of her life began with her parents James R. Forrester and Genieve Amos. She then was blessed by the caregiving of her father’s sister and brother-in-law Mary Vine and Donald Goddard. Another blessing came into her life when her father married Stell (Krycka) Forrester. With their union Barbara gained another mother and a loving sister – Pat Campbell.   Barbara will be truly missed by all that loved her. Especially her husband of 51 years, William ‘Bill’ Geisler; her sons – Rusty (Jill) Geisler of New Buffalo and Scott (Rhonda) Geisler of Galien; her pride and joy in all of her grandchildren – Jordan, Mandy, Will, Miranda and Hunter; and her sister – Pat (Jack) Campbell.   A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Sat., Dec. 6, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary of the Lake Church with Father Dan Hyman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation is on Friday at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo from 4:00-8:00 P.M., with a Scripture Service at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Lake Church or to the Rosary & Altar Society of St. Mary’s Church.
