Oldrich Frank Kohout

Oldrich F. Kohout, 88, of New Buffalo, passed away at the Rittenhouse Sr. Living in Michigan City, IN on Weds., Jan. 28, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo, MI.   The family is receiving friends for a time of visitation on Sat., Jan. 31 at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, from 4:00 P.M.(EST) until 6:00 P.M.(EST).  Burial will be at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeside, MI. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Dunes Hospice, 4711 Evans Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383.   Oldrich was born in Chicago, IL on February 20, 1926 to Oldrich and Marie (Vondra) Kohout. He lived in Chicago until app. 20 years ago when they moved to New Buffalo. On July 2, 1953 in Chicago he married Visnja Sosnovec; she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2002. Oldrich was an accountant before his retirement; he also was very active in the Sparta Club of Chicago.   Oldrich is survived by his two daughters-Visnja (Clay) Howard of LaPorte, IN and Tresnja (Randy) Craig of Michigan City, IN; three grandchildren-Alisha (Matt) Reitz, Kate (Peter) Donnelly and Nicole (Adam) Bowen; five great grandchildren-Emma Reitz, Alivia Reitz, Drew Bowen, Callyn Reitz and Mazzie Bowen; and a brother-George (Marina) Kohout of Mission Viejo, CA. Preceding him in death are his parents-Oldrich and Marie Kohout, and his wife-Visnja.
