Irene A. Turley

Irene A. Turley, 91, of New Buffalo, passed away on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI. Irene was born on October 19, 1923 in Michigan City, IN to Peter and Joanna (Dudeck) Gorski. On May 17, 1947 in Otis, IN she married Theodore Henry Turley; he preceded her in death on July 25, 2009. From 1958-1998 they owned and operated Turley’s Sunoco Service Station in New Buffalo. Irene was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church, and was very active in the Rosary and Altar Society. Irene is survived by her children-Leonard (Paula) Turley of Dyer, IN and Monica (Rodney VanAusdal) Garrison of Hinsdale, IL; and grandson-Joshua Lorig of Falls Church, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents-Peter and Joanna, her husband-Theodore, and three brothers-Alvin, Ralph and Edward. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., Dec. 4, 11:00 A.M., at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo with Father Dan Hyman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation is on Weds., Dec. 3 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M. at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.
