Doris Maria Martin

Doris Maria Martin, 90, of Flossmoor, IL and Three Oaks, MI, passed away on Thurs., March 5, 2015 at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI.   Doris was born on Sept. 11, 1924 in Chicago, IL to James and Charlotte (Scott) Tobin. She was married to William Henry Martin, Jr.; he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2012. Doris is survived by her two children – Rev. Fr. R. Paul Martin (Nikki) of both Flossmoor, IL and Three Oaks, MI, and Donna Marie Macie (Dennis) of Oconomoc, WI; two grandchildren – Thomas Macie of Oconomoc, WI and William R. Martin of Flossmoor, IL; and a cousin – John Tobin of Chicago, IL. A brother – Bernard Tobin preceded her in death. Doris loved both  her family and church family and was beloved by both.   A service celebrating her life will take place on Sat., March 14, 11:00 AM at the Annunciation & St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in New Buffalo with her son Rev. Fr. R. Paul Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, MI. A time of visitation and the Trisagion service will be on Fri., March 13, from 3:00-4:00 PM at the Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N.
