Sherry Marie Calnin

Sherry Marie Calnin, 54, of New Buffalo, was called to heaven by her grandmother on March 21, 2015, surrounded by her loving daughter and sisters.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI.   Sherry was born on October 24, 1960 in Michigan City, IN to George and Barbara (Schoch) Calnin. Sherry personified kindness. Her warm, gentle spirit presented itself through her smile and loving presence. She was always willing to help others. Sherry embodied the genuine characteristics of a true friend. She loved life and will certainly be missed.   Sherry is survived by her daughter – Kristen Kerns of Chesterton, IN; her parents – George and Barbara Calnin of New Buffalo; two sisters – Rhonda (Steve) Perna of Seattle, WA and Mary Kelly of Ann Arbor, MI; nephews and nieces – Steffen, Rachel and Michael Perna and Nicholas Kelly; aunt- Joanne (Ray) Davidson; uncle – John (Kathy) Calnin; many cousins:  and her devoted companion Sonny.   Mass of Christian Burial will be on Sat., March 28, 11:00am, at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, with Father Dan Hyman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Visitation is on Friday, March 27, from 4:00-8:00pm, at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
