Funeral services for Mr. Donald “Don” Earl Webb, age 82 of Cookeville, TN will be held Thursday October 8 at 10 a.m. at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, with minister Tony Fields officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery also in New Buffalo. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p. m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Don died Saturday evening October 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 21, 1933 in Portland, TN to the late George Virgil and Audrey Mae Hester Webb. Don was a member of Fairview Church of Christ. He owned and operated Webb’s Auto Repair until his retirement. He was affectionately known as “The Mowing Man”; was an avid fisherman and loved any kind of Auto Racing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Hammonds; sister, Frances Weldon; and two brothers, George Webb and Harold Webb.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Judy Lunog Webb (whom he married October 7, 1955 in Saint Joe, Michigan) two daughters, and sons-in-law, Sheila and Ray Silhavy of Wanatah, IN and Pam and Darrell Hunsley of Michigan City, IN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Barbara Webb of Henrico, VA and Ron and Tami Webb of New Buffalo, MI; 8-grandchildren, Chris (Tabitha) Hammonds, Donnie Webb, Kyra Humsley, Katie (James) Sommers, Jason Hammonds, Samantha (Mike) Jones, Eric Cooper, and Darron Webb; 8-great grandchildren; and his brother, Chester (Pat) Webb of Michigan City, IN.
