Audrey Alice Rogers

Audrey Alice Rogers, 79, of New Buffalo, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, MI.   Audrey was born in Seneca, KS on March 18, 1936 to the late Thomas and Alice (McGreevy) Shaughnessy. On December 13, 1957 in Oakland, CA she married James P. Rogers; he preceded her in death on June 26, 2006. Audrey had worked as an inspector at Gateway Industries. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the River Valley Senior Center, she was an avid reader and card player.   Audrey is survived by her children – Julia Beckman of Henderson, Nevada, Donald Rogers of New Buffalo, MI and John Rogers of Berrien Springs, MI;  sisters – Patricia (Quay) Smith and Rosie (Ernest) Aldrich both of Lawrence, KS; and a brother – Gene Shaughnessy also of Lawrence, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister-Mary Putnam, and brothers-Gerald, William, Paul, and Robert Shaughnessy.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, 12 noon, at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeside, MI. Visitation will precede the service from 11:00-12noon at the funeral home.
