Samual's Obituary

Samual ‘Black Sam’ Milius, Jr., 74, formerly of New Buffalo, MI, now of Monticello, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.   Sam was born on March 18, 1941 in Hammond, IN to the late Samual and Alyce (Chevis) Milius. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served his country during the Vietnam War. Sam worked as a service technician from 1965-1982 at Joy Manufacturing in Michigan City, IN; and then owned and operated Compressed Air Services in New Buffalo from 1983-2008. He was an avid drag racing fan. Memorial contributions may be made to the DAV or to the American Cancer Society.   Sam is survived by his wife – Roberta (Waugaman) Milius; his son – Arend Milius of New Buffalo; two step-sons – Kevin Moore of Lansing, IL and Chris Moore of Bourbonnais, IL; and a nephew Bryan (Sherry) Majoch of Hammond, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister – Dorene Majoch.   A Celebration of Sam’s Life service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 5:00 P.M. at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Visitation will precede the service from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Sam’s final resting place will be at Pine Grove Cemetery following cremation.
