Richard's Obituary
Richard G. Graf, 77, formerly of New Buffalo now of LaPorte, IN passed away suddenly on Monday, July 25, 2016 in LaPorte, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Richard was born on December 18, 1938 in Chicago, IL to the late Edward and Mildred (Liska) Graf. He married Patricia Baldridge on June 25, 1960 in Anaheim, CA. Richard retired in 1997 as President of Berkel Inc. of LaPorte, IN after 29 years of service. He was a member of Waters Edge United Methodist Church in New Buffalo; an avid golfer; super fan of the Chicago Bears and White Sox; an Eagle Scout-the youngest recipient in state of IL at the time of this achievement; and a loving family man – especially enjoyed taking family golfing and the 5:30am Breakfast Club with his family.
Richard is survived by his wife of over 56 years Patricia; his three sons – Michael (Renee) Graf of LaPorte, IN, Daniel (Diann) Graf of Novi, MI, and David (Cindy) Graf of Granger, IN; his beloved grandchildren – Eric, Amelia, Alysa, Spencer and Carter; and his sister-in-law Yvonne (Edwin) Homolka with niece – Maggie (Tom) Hayes and nephew – Adam (Shelley) Homolka; and six great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday, July 29, 11:00A.M.(CST) at the LaPorte First United Methodist Church-1225 Michigan Ave., LaPorte, IN, with Rev. Brad Bartelmay officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors-4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to the LaPorte First United Methodist Church.
