Lorne Akins

Lorne Akins, 47, of Westfield, IN, formerly of New Buffalo, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. EST on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.  Lorne was born on June 24, 1969 in Chicago, IL. He was a very hard working man. Lorne enjoyed riding and working on his Harley. Most of all, he loved being with his family and they were all drawn to him as well.  Lorne is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Jansky; fathers, William Jansky and Milutin Jukovich; loving companion, Debbie Odle; daughters, Gina Greene, Christa Gray and Tori Akins; siblings, Richard (Erica Lanore) Akins, Gretchen (John) Robbins, Carrie (Richard) Cardone, Rado (Linda) Jukovich, Tammy (Wissam) Aboul-Hosn, Diane Jukovich and Robert Jukovich; step children, Andrea (Mike) Mattingly, Lesley (Sam) Joers, Mallory (Ronnie) Herbert and Kimber Odle; grandchildren, Lauren, Kasondra, Joey, Jacob and Cris Jr.; step grandchildren, Aubry, Anthony, Lily, Ella, Noah and Hazel and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorne is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Tommy Jukovich; sister, Karen Jukovich and niece, Cheyanne Akins.
