Joseph Fleck

Joseph Fleck, Jr., 86, of New Buffalo passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at West Woods of Bridgman. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.  Joseph was born in Michigan City, IN on May 21, 1931 to the late Joseph and Clara (Engerman) Fleck. He served our country during the Koean War while in the U.S. Army. Joseph married Joann Patricia Wesolowski on Sept. 3, 1955 in New Buffalo; she preceded him in death on January 27, 1997. He was employed with NIPSCO and retired as a Lineman Patrolman in 1989. Joseph loved to buy the newspaper and a cup of coffee and head to the beach in New Buffalo most every morning. He loved western movies, the Four Winds Casino and sweets. Joseph will be greatly missed.  He is survived by his children – Julia (Steven) Payne of Lakeside, Jacqueline (Bob) Zboril of Three Oaks, Joseph (Cynthia) Fleck of Bridgman, John and James Fleck both of New Buffalo; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Joseph is also preceded by brothers – John and Don, and sisters – Dorothy and Evelyn.  A Celebration of Life service will take place on Monday, November 20, 2:00 P.M. at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Visitation precedes the service from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
