Loraine Rudecki, 92, of New Buffalo, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Loraine was born on June 11, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Mae (Hildebrand) Williams. On Sept. 22, 1945 she married Joseph James Rudecki; he preceded her in death on July 17, 2017. Loraine worked at Allis Chalmers in LaPorte, IN during WWII days; she then worked in the New Buffalo High School cafeteria; and retired in 1987 from Gerwin’s as a press operator after 13 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo and also of the Rosary & Altar Society of St. Mary’s.
Loraine is survived by a son – Jerry Rudecki of Elkhart, IN and a daughter – Gail (Kurt) Mahl of LaPorte, IN; grandchild Kelly Mahl; two step-grandchildren – Richard and Brandon Mahl; and three great grandchildren – Landon Mahl, Marlee Pollien and Maddie Mahl. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband and a brother – Jack Williams.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Sat., Feb. 24, 11:00am, at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo with Father John Ambrose officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation is on Fri., Feb. 23 from 5:00-7:00pm at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.
